Support the New Spicewood Community Library!
Our Story and Why a New Building is NeededThe Friends of Spicewood Community Library opened a library for Spicewood's 2400 residents in 2007. Thanks to the generosity of the community, it grew to serve parts of Burnet, Blanco and Travis counties, starting with only 5,000 items.
Click on the two images below to view brief videos as patrons, staff, volunteers, board members and founders explain why a new library building is important to them and to this community.
Today, Spicewood has grown to nearly 7,000 residents and is expected to reach 15,000 by 2030. The library offers many well-attended programs for all age groups. The capabilities and examples of the programs needed for this community are outlined here Community Needs - Services & Programs.
The original library is a retrofitted, nearly 50-year-old manufactured building. That building is deteriorating rapidly. Its condition and inadequate space is limiting the library's ability to effectively fulfill its mission to serve this community.

Recognition for Your Contribution! The estimated construction cost for the new library has been revised to $2.0 million based on discussions with area contractors and changes in economic conditions. With your support, we will break ground in 2026. A prominent donor wall is being designed above the reception area in the new building. Donations of $500 or more from individuals, businesses, foundations, and organizations will be recognized on the wall. Contributions will be acknowledged in proportion to their size, providing a lasting recognition of your support for the Spicewood community. More about sponsorships is HERE.
