LAKE TRAVIS READS ! |
What if everyone in the Lake Travis area read the same book at the same
time, and came together to talk about it? That is the idea behind the
“One Book, One Community” program that was created by the Center for
the Book in Washington, D.C. The Friends of Bee Cave Public Library,
Friends of Lake Travis Community Library, and Friends of the Spicewood
Community Library have joined with the Lake Travis School District, the
Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, and the local Barnes & Noble
Bookstore to sponsor “Lake Travis Reads". Voting for Lake Travis
Reads will take place between April 15th and 30th; participants will be
asked to select one book out of five titles for the community to read.
Voting locations will be online and at the following ballot locations: Bee Cave Public Library, Lake
Travis Community Library, Spicewood Community Library, Lake Travis High
School, and Barnes & Noble. The kickoff for Lake Travis Reads will
be on Thursday, May 15th at 7 PM at the Hill Country Galleria outdoor
amphitheater where the winning book will be announced. Stay tuned for
more information!... is a One Book, One Community
